CHICAGO – Tara Marie Doherty of Bull Valley and Patrick Michael Baker of Lexington, Ky., were married at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Matthias Church in Chicago. Father John Sanaghan officiated.
She is the daughter of Thomas and Julia Doherty of Bull Valley. He is the son of Michael and Kathleen Baker of Lexington, Ky.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Matron of honor was Shannon Norwood. Bridesmaids were Deborah Carrigan, Jeri Felsenthal, Michelle Hamers, Samantha Jackson, Trisha Kaput, Kristana Piechocki and Jenna Solomon. Flower girl was Sydney Klein.
Best man was Michael Baker, father of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Nicholas Alfonso, Rick Alfonso, Thomas Doherty, Bo Hurd, Jason Maras, Andrew Moorhead and J. Nicholas Petit. Ushers were Mark Floersch and JJ Rodeheffer. Ring bearer was Gavin Felsenthal.
Nuptial music was provided by St. Matthias Choir Vocalists and The Shannon Rovers.
After a reception at The Palmer House in Chicago, the couple took a wedding trip to Switzerland, Italy and Greece.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Marian Central Catholic High School, a 2005 graduate of the University of Iowa and a 2008 graduate of DePaul University in Chicago.
She is a Chicago Public School teacher.
The bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Henry Clay High School and a 2001 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
He works at INTL FCStone in Chicago.
The couple resides in Chicago.
