Sgt: Undersheriff tipped owner of company investigated in DEA probe

WOODSTOCK – A McHenry County sheriff’s sergeant alleges Undersheriff Andrew Zinke tipped off the owner of a company the sergeant said was under federal investigation in the shipping of thousands of pounds of marijuana.

RITA Corp. in Crystal Lake is owned by Brian Goode, Zinke’s close friend and a contributor to the campaigns of both McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren and – more recently – Zinke.

Goode also has been a member of the Sheriff’s Merit Commission since 2005. His current six-year term expires in 2017.
