TLC aims to make difference at Harvard park
HARVARD – On Saturday, which is National Make a Difference Day, some 250- to 300-year-old oak trees in Harvard need the community’s help.
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County invites area residents to a Family Work Party from 9 a.m. to noon to help rescue a grove of ancient oak trees at Gateway Nature Park on the south end of Harvard.
Young people and their parents will plant oak-friendly native plants and sow seeds in an area that was cleared earlier this year.
