LITH police to step up patrols on Halloween

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Lake in the Hills Police Department reminds residents not to drink and drive this Halloween and to “keep the party off the road.”

The department plans to crack down on drunken drivers with an aggressive Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort, Sgt. Eric Decker, traffic unit supervisor, said in a news release.

Lake in the Hills police suggest planning a safe way home before festivities begin; designating a sober driver and leaving the car keys at home; taking a taxi, calling a sober friend or family member or using public transportation if you are impaired; and contacting local law enforcement if you see a drunken driver on the road.
