Fox River Grove charity blood and food drive set for Nov. 3
FOX RIVER GROVE – The Fox River Grove Fire Protection District and Flight for Life – McHenry Base will host the third annual Seven Angels Memorial Blood and Food Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nov. 3.
The event at Fox River Grove Fire Station 1, 411 Algonquin Road, will commemorate the 17th anniversary of the school bus-train crash of Oct. 25, 1995.
Blood donors will have the opportunity to meet one of the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears, Jim Morrissey, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Those who sign up early and donate will have their name entered in a raffle for a pair of Super Bowl tickets.
Firefighters will grill hamburgers and hot dogs for donors, and Flight for Life will provide helicopter cookies.
Each donor also will receive a commemorative
T-shirt.
Those who bring a nonperishable food item for the local food pantry will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to win a Flight for Life Pink Heals T-shirt signed by some of the 1985 Bears.
Flight for Life Pink Heals T-shirts and sweatshirts will be available for purchase to help replace the radiator on the
Pink Heals firetruck Jessica.
