The class will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at TLC’s office at Hennen Conservation Area, 4622 Dean St., Woodstock. TLC’s land stewardship specialist, Melissa Hormann, will teach correct use of equipment, safety and technique.

The cost is $10 for TLC members and $20 for nonmembers, and includes hands-on experience with the equipment. By the end of the class, students should have the skills to safely fell a small tree.

The class is geared toward women but is appropriate for anyone who would like to learn how to use a chainsaw properly.
