Fall book sale planned
at Algonquin library Eastgate Branch

ALGONQUIN – Friends of the Algonquin Area Public Library will host its Fall Festival Book Sale Nov. 8 to 11 at the library’s Eastgate Branch, 115 Eastgate Drive.

The sale will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 8; there will be a $10 entry fee for this day only. It will continue from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11, which is half-price day.

The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit organization that raises money through three book sales a year and the in-house Book Nook. The money collected directly benefits the library.

The Friends’ sales are listed and consistently rated “exceptional” on Book Sale Finder.

There will be 30,000 items ready for browsing, featuring holiday books for adults and children.

Most books, donated by the public or withdrawn from the library collection, will be priced at $1 to $2 or less. Special books, DVDs, CDs, CD books and video games will be $2 and up.

Shoppers can visit the “Book Bistro” hospitality room next door to take a break, where gift books and jigsaw puzzles are available for purchase.
