Boys

Seth Conroy

Huntley, fr.

Conroy and freshman teammate Keagan Smith finished second and third for Huntley at the IHSA Class 3A Guilford Regional Meet last week, helping the Red Raiders advance as a team.

Conroy finished in 15:10.0, 7 seconds behind the winner, Jefferson’s Jason Reynolds. Smith was 2 seconds behind Conroy.

Conroy and Smith have helped the Raiders become one of the most improved teams in the area. He finished seventh the week before at the Fox Valley Conference Meet.

Girls

Sam Baran

Jacobs, sr.

Baran won the IHSA Class 3A Guilford Regional in 17:46.2 to help the Golden Eagles to the team title with 26 points. Harlem was second with 67 points, and Jacobs was running without No. 1 runner Lauren Van Vlierbergern, who was resting with her left foot that has a stress reaction (the precursor to a stress fracture).

Baran has had an outstanding season running in the No. 2 spot for most races. She won the regional race by 11 seconds.
