LAKE IN THE HILLS – An Open House Breast Cancer Benefit for Chrissy Laramie will run from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Labahn-Hain House, 149 Hilltop Drive.
Laramie recently was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, has undergone two surgeries and soon will start chemotherapy. As a result, her ability to work has been limited, according to a web page associated with the event.
All money raised will help the family with medical bills and expenses, with a portion of proceeds going to the Sherman Cancer Center.
There will be food, a 50-50 raffle, a silent auction and homemade goods.
Donations or gifts to be used at the event would be appreciated. To make a donation, visit www.gofundme.com/1ci2s8?pc=_cr.

‘The Suffragette’ to be presented at library
EAST DUNDEE – Dundee Township Historical Society members will present “The Suffragette” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dundee Township Library, 555 Barrington Ave.
“The Suffragette” is the story of generations of women who fought for the right to vote. The campaign lasted for 72 years before suffrage was granted to the American woman.
The pioneers of the movement, who blazed the trail for future generations, did not live to see the victory but their names have gone down in history.
For information or to make a reservation, call the library at 847-428-3661.
