McHenry Police plan charity event for Special Olympics
The McHenry Police Department will host its first Running Scared event for Special Olympics Illinois.
This is a costume event consisting of both a 5K run and a 2-mile family fun run/walk. The event is being held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday(Oct. 27).
This event will start and finish at Shamrock Farm Park in McHenry, and the course runs through the Legend Lakes subdivision.
This course offers low traffic, a paved running surface, and several water stations. The run portion of the event will be timed, and there will be a finish line Halloween celebration for all the participants at Shamrock Farm Park.
There also is a door prize drawing for all registered participants.

Registration is $25 for an individual, $35 for couples, and $45 for family registration.
All money raised from this event go directly to Special Olympics Illinois.
