Salon MACKK benefit cut-a-thon

CRYSTAL LAKE – Salon MACKK, 415 Congress Pkwy., Crystal Lake, is having a Miracles for Moose Cut-a-Thon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 11.

Suggested donations are $25 for hair cut, $12 hair extensions, and $10 polish changes. There will be raffles and prizes along with food and beverages.

All proceeds will benefit Miracles for Moose, a nonprofit organization founded to help recent Prairie Ridge High School graduate Anthony Mustari in his battle against leukemia.

Salon MACKK – owned by Melinda Thomas, Andie Smith, Chrissy Dehn, Karin Jackowiak and Kristin Shipley – participates in fundraisers throughout the year for breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, and heart disease research; Children of Fallen Riders; and the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.

The salon opened in May 2009, and has expanded from its five owner/stylists to four additional stylists, a nail technician and two front desk personnel.
