Close to 100 unhealthy animals found in Woodstock home
WOODSTOCK – Close to 100 animals, including a dead dog and cat, were found residing in unhealthy conditions Monday in an unincorporated Woodstock home, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 8600 block of Bull Run Trail at around 10 a.m. following a check-for-well-being call from a neighbor in that area, Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said. Police arrived and were unable to make contact with the homeowner.
Officers peering through a window of the home later found several dogs and cats, as well as feces, on the floor of the residence, police said. The animals also looked dirty and unhealthy, and there was no obvious food or water available.
