Drugs suspected in crash into ditch

HEBRON – Charges have been filed against a Hampshire man flown to a trauma hospital Monday afternoon after driving his car into a ditch, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Harold E. Wiese Jr., 45, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, improper lane use and driving without insurance.

Wiese was driving south on Route 47 near Vanderkarr Road in Hebron about 2:15 p.m. Monday when he went off the roadway into a ditch, according to a news release. He was wearing his seat belt, authorities said.
