Nearly 100 animals rescued from filthy Woodstock home
WOODSTOCK – Close to 100 animals, including a dead dog and cat, were discovered in squalid conditions Monday in an unincorporated Woodstock home, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 8600 block of Bull Run Trail about 10 a.m. after a neighbor called for a well-being check, Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said. Authorities said they were unable to contact the homeowner.
Officers peering through a window of the home later found several dogs and cats, and feces on the floor of the home. The animals looked dirty and unhealthy, and there was no obvious food or water for them, authorities said.
