To the Editor:
I’d like to clarify some campaign rhetoric. The County Board salary through 2021 is $21,000. The Federal Affordable Care Act will soon require health care for every employee or a penalty will be due. I personally have chosen the cheapest health care available: the Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO. These benefits and pensions are available to every county employee. The mileage policy predates my tenure and is limited to one meeting daily. It is a matter of fairness that a member from Spring Grove, Algonquin, Marengo or Harvard not be burdened with more expenses than a resident of Woodstock.
What has been my agenda? I’ve voted against every levy. I want to lower the tax rate and pay less to government. We can cut $3 million without diminishing care because the Valley Hi mortgage has been paid off.
