Make a change

To the Editor:

All McHenry County Board candidates were requested to attend meetings held by The League of Women Voters, The Northwest Herald and The Daily Herald to provide information for endorsements and voter information.

I, along with four other District 2 candidates, attended all. The sixth candidate, Chairman Ken Koehler was absent on all occasions. I was told he doesn’t attend functions at this level.

Now, a significant local issue is the executive form of government ballot referendum. State Rep. Jack Franks asked Koehler to debate the issues on Oct. 17. Rep. Mike Tryon came in his stead. Again, no Koehler. I guess there’s no need for him to discuss the issues with the proletariat. Does transparency come to mind?

Voters in District 2 can make a change. As Detective Colombo used to say, “Oh, there’s just one more thing.” Mr. Koehler, can you tell us what a “map amendment” is?
