Probation for man in sex case
WOODSTOCK – A Harvard man was sentenced Wednesday to two years of sex-offender probation and given credit for 286 days served in jail after being accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl in 2010.
Juan Luis Carbajal, 37, entered a stipulation last month that there were enough facts to find him guilty of criminal sexual abuse.
A sentencing agreement was reached between Carbajal’s attorney, Tom Loizzo, and prosecutors. McHenry County Judge Gordon Graham accepted the terms, which included a $750 fine and court costs.
Carbajal also was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors, with the exception of his own children.
Prosecutors said Carbajal performed a sex act on a girl, who was 15 years old at the time, in August 2010. Court documents allege the abuse occurred in a Harvard barn where Carbajal was working.
