Wine, beer tasting to help McHenry family

MCHENRY – A wine and microbrew beer tasting is set for Sunday to help a McHenry family after the death of their unborn son,.

Shaun and Brittany McCafferty of McHenry lost their son, Jameson, less than two months ago, when she was four months pregnant.

The benefit will run noon to 4 p.m. at Slyce Coal Fired Pizza Company, 127 N. Main St., Wauconda.

Tickets are $25 for adults and include four tastings of either a wine or microbrew beer selection and a full glass of one of the choices. A salad and pizza buffet is included.

The event is open to children, who, for $8, can partake of the buffet.

Proceeds will go to the McCafferty family to offset medical and funeral expenses.
