Woodstock library event to address dementia
A Woodstock Public Library event will look to add a level of comfort for friends, relatives and caregivers of those with dementia.
Sue Sklar of the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will speak at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the library, 414 W. Judd St., Woodstock. Her presentation is titled "Learning to Connect: Relating to the Person with Alzheimer's."
Sklar will address the effect that Alzheimer's and other dementia-related illnesses have on individuals. She will offer techniques for getting the most out of interactions with people with dementia.
