Zion man gets 44 years for murder solicitation

WAUKEGAN (AP) – A judge in northern Illinois has sentenced a 50-year-old Zion man to 44 years in prison for burglarizing a home and trying to have a pregnant woman and her boyfriend killed.

Lake County Circuit Judge Daniel Shanes sentenced Roderick Golden on Tuesday. A jury convicted Golden of solicitation of murder earlier this year. He also pleaded guilty to residential burglary Tuesday.

The News Sun reports that Golden and three other men went into a Waukegan woman's home while she was sleeping, tied her up, took her valuables and fled.
