ISFA board choses Quinn's spokeswoman for director
CHICAGO (AP) — Gov. Pat Quinn's top spokeswoman has been picked to run the state agency that operates U.S. Cellular Field.
Thursday's decision from the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority's board comes in the middle of a spat between the governor and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Emanuel has said he doesn't think communications director Kelly Kraft is best suited for the job.
The authority was created to build and renovate stadiums for professional sports teams. It manages the home of the White Sox and could someday be used to finance renovations at Wrigley Field.
