Marengo teen held
in sexual assault

MARENGO – A Marengo teen remained in the McHenry County Jail on Thursday, charged with criminal sexual assault.

Jesus Antonio Loyo, 18, was arrested Monday in an alleged incident Sept. 22. According to the criminal complaint, Loyo committed an act of sexual penetration knowing that the victim was unable to understand the nature of the act or was unable to give consent.

His bond was set at $80,000, but he also is on an immigration hold.

An immigration hold generally indicates that the defendant could be in the country illegally or that the criminal case could affect the defendant’s immigration status.

Loyo’s next scheduled court date is Tuesday.
