To the Editor:

I always am concerned when politicians make short-sighted decisions that end up hurting us in the long run. However, Donna Kurtz, in her County Board member role, doesn’t seem to take the standard politician view.

In my conversations with her, she has been very firm on the stand she took to protect the Crystal Lake watershed, and with her ongoing efforts to protect open space in McHenry County. I am glad she has this solid conviction because our property values are directly tied to preserving our natural resources, as well as protecting our groundwater supply.
