by train identified

CARY – Police still are investigating an incident in which a 35-year-old Cary woman was killed by a Metra train Saturday at Northwest Highway near Feinberg Court.

Jill Turskey was the woman struck and killed by the train, the McHenry County Coroner’s Office said.

Family notifications were completed Sunday morning, Deputy Coroner Kim Bostic said.

The Union Pacific train 721 due in Harvard at 7:20 p.m. on the Northwest Line struck the pedestrian about 6:50 p.m., just north of the Cary station, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.

Three trains were delayed.

Cary police Sgt. Geoff Cooker said the incident still is under investigation.
