Enduring detours

To the Editor:

Many thanks to our Woodland Drive neighbors for enduring weeks of detouring through their bucolic and normally quiet street by hundreds of residents from North Shore Drive in Crystal Lake. During construction of an improved drainage system, our street was closed, forcing cars, huge beer trucks, school buses, trash haulers, the daily UPS and Fedex trucks, as well as service trucks and vans, to pass through their neighborhood.

As if all of the traffic weren’t bad enough, bright orange construction signs and barrels lined the entire length of the street, many in people’s yards.
