Man charged with slashing infant

AURORA – Aurora police say they’ve arrested and charged a 26-year-old man who allegedly slashed his 8-month-old daughter while arguing with the child’s mother.

Nathaniel Nared was charged with aggravated battery to a child, aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, and two counts of domestic battery.

Police said a verbal altercation escalated after Nared allegedly grabbed a knife and began swinging it at the woman, who was holding the baby. The child was slashed twice in the leg. The woman was stabbed in her stomach, right shoulder and back. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
