Voters reflect strong feelings in 8th district
CHICAGO – Voters are expressing strong feelings about one of Illinois' most contentious races between tea party Congressman Joe Walsh and Iraq War veteran Tammy Duckworth.
Outside a Hoffman Estates polling station Tuesday, a 38-year-old dental hygienist, Barb Lynn, says she voted for Walsh, of McHenry. She concedes Walsh can be "rough around the edges," but she says the Republican knows how to get things done.
But Terry Mills says she voted for Duckworth. The 37-year-old clerk says she likes the Democrat's views on the issues. And she calls Walsh "absolutely crazy."
