Walsh concedes race, Duckworth 'humbled'

CHICAGO – Republican Congressman Joe Walsh of McHenry conceded his re-election bid to Democrat Tammy Duckworth.

Walsh told supporters Tuesday night that he's proud of what he's done. He says he's not going anywhere and he plans on "knocking on doors tomorrow." Walsh said he spoke to Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran, and told her that his congressional office would do whatever needed to help with the transition.

Duckworth says she was humbled to be elected to Congress and will bring "a new attitude to Washington." Duckworth says she spoke to Walsh and he was gracious and offered to help her establish her office in Washington. She told supporters that she looks forward to being their congresswoman.
