Authorities asking for help in fatal hit and run

CHICAGO — Cook County Sheriff's Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run in unincorporated Maine Township.

In a statement Wednesday, Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart said the car is believed to be a black Dodge Challenger.

He said the vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian sometime between Sunday night and Monday afternoon. The accident occurred on eastbound Touhy Avenue between Interstate 294 and Talcott Avenue near the suburb of Park Ridge.
