Citizen tips on area drug sales lead to heroin arrest
McHENRY – A traffic stop led to heroin and drug paraphernalia, and the arrest of a McHenry man, authorities said.
Ryan M. O’Keefe, 26, of 210 N. Draper Road, is charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
McHenry County sheriff’s deputies watched the area of Hilltop Road and Seminole Drive near Wonder Lake after receiving tips about drug sales in the area, and observed a drug transaction Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Deputies pulled over a blue 2006 Chevrolet Canyon driven by O’Keefe and seized about 6.8 grams of heroin, six Suboxone pills, multiple drug paraphernalia, the vehicle, and $202.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $1,360, authorities said.
O’Keefe’s bond was set at $80,000. He remained in the McHenry County Jail on Thursday. His next scheduled court date is Tuesday.
