To the Editor:
My son and I stopped in at Tony’s Café on McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake for breakfast. We placed our order and awaited our food.
The owner, Tony, stopped by our table and said the last time we were in, he made a mistake on our bill. I had told him to add the tip to the debit card. Well, he added the tip to the bill and then when processing the debit card, he added the tip again. He was refunding the amount of the tip.
Can you imagine that happening in a chain restaurant. By the way, the food and the service were top notch. Our waitress, Deb, has been there more than 15 years, so it must be a nice place to work.
