MCCD, Storytelling Guild team up for celebration

CRYSTAL LAKE – “Once upon a time …” sets the stage for imagination at the fifth annual Tellebration Celebration from 7 to 8:30 p.m Nov. 17 at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road.

The event is hosted by McHenry County Conservation District and McHenry County Storytelling Guild.

Six presenters – Joanne Knaack, Jerry Martin, Nancy Neckerman, Ben Rosenfield, Andy Talley and Carol Waxenberg – will spin yarns to satisfy all ages.

The audience will hear stories about nature, folklore and tall tales, and be a part of a worldwide event in which storytelling enthusiasts bond in spirit, telling stories at the same time on the same weekend.

Admission requires one nonperishable food item to help stock the McHenry County food pantries for the holiday season.

Registration is required online at www.mccdistrict.org, by phone at 815-479-5779, or by mail or walk-in at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake.
