McHenry man held in sex assault of child

McHENRY – A McHenry man who authorities said confessed to sexually assaulting a child less than 13 years old remained in McHenry County Jail on Thursday.

Ryan J. Frazier, 31, of 5323 Meadow St., is charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony. He was arrested Wednesday.

On Tuesday, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office investigators received information from police in Twin Lakes, Wis., that a child reported being sexually abused by Frazier at Frazier’s home in an unincorporated area near McHenry.

The child was interviewed with the assistance of the Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County. Frazier also was interviewed and, authorities said, admitted to sexually assaulting the child in October.

Bond for Frazier was set at $150,000. He must post 10 percent – $15,000 – to be released.

Frazier’s next scheduled court date is Tuesday.
