Man gets 38-years for 2008 Aurora murder
ST. CHARLES – A Melrose Park man has been sentenced to 38 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the 2008 death of an Aurora man during a botched drug deal.
Kane County State’s Attorney Joseph McMahon said 24-year-old Jorge Diaz was sentenced Wednesday by Circuit Judge Timothy Sheldon.
Prosecutors say that in October 2008, Diaz and another man went to a home in Aurora to buy cocaine, but actually intended to rob the drug dealers at gunpoint.
