Two charged in southern Illinois meth lab bust

DU QUOIN (AP) — Two men have been arrested after Illinois State Police seized a meth lab in the southern Illinois town of Benton.

Officials with the Southern Illinois Drug Task force say 30-year-old Adam Wasik and 37-year-old Michael Moulton were arrested for aggravated participation in methamphetamine manufacturing. Moulton also was charged with child endangerment because he has two small children.

The lab was discovered Thursday during an investigation by the task force and the State Police Meth Response Team.

Police seized over 1,500 grams of drugs and numerous chemicals and items that can be used to make meth.

Moulton and Wasik are being held in the Franklin County Jail. It wasn't immediately known if they've obtained legal representation.
