Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

A "Taste of Downtown Christmas" will take place Saturday, Nov. 17, as part of the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Christmas Walk.

McHenry downtown and the 17 restaurants along the way will offer a taste of wonderful food for a minimal fee from 2 to 5:30 p.m. After the "Taste," head over to the park for entertainment in the gazebo followed by the Tree Light Ceremony by Mayor McHenry Sue Low at 6 p.m. Most stores will remain open to 8:30 p.m.

The Christmas season continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Visit the downtown area for trolley rides provided by the city of McHenry, a Christmas Karaoke Caroling Contest sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois, a Harms Farm Snowball Train Ride, hayrides, Christmas stories, pony rides, snowball games, a coloring contest, Christmas caroling, downtown holiday vendors and more.

At 1: p.m., enjoy the Toys for Tots Parade, where nearly 800 motorcycle riders – in costume – fill the streets for the annual Christmas parade.

Visit www.mchenrychamber.com to see all the activities and promotions.
