McHenry's Christmas Walk kicks off Saturday

McHENRY – Start the holidays with a "Taste of Downtown Christmas" on Saturday as part of the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Christmas Walk. Shop downtown and stop at the 17 restaurants along the way, each offering a taste of food for a minimal fee from 2 to 5:30 p.m.

After the taste, head over to the park for entertainment in the gazebo followed by the Tree Light Ceremony at 6 p.m. Most stores will remain open until 8:30 p.m.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, visit the downtown area to enjoy the trolley rides provided by the city of McHenry. Other events include the Christmas karaoke caroling contest sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois, Harms Farm Snowball Train Ride, hay rides, Christmas stories, pony rides, snowball games, coloring contest, Christmas caroling and holiday vendors.
