To the Editor:
A recent letter to the editor (Nancy Schwab, Oct. 27) calls pro-life legislation “anti-women.” I more easily could call pro-choice legislation “anti-women” because of the hundreds of thousands of innocent females aborted each year in this country. What is more “anti-women,” the effect of a mother whose right to abort is limited or the effect on a baby girl whose mother’s right to abort is not limited? A woman’s rights should be protected from the moment she is conceived.
The author uses the term “reproductive rights.” What a misplaced term. In this country, we do have the right to reproduce, in contrast with China and their one child per family policy and government-forced abortions.
In this great country, I am free to conceive as many babies as the Lord will allow. However, some rights lacking in this country are the right to life, the right to choose not to have my tax dollars spent on abortions, and the right of conscience for doctors not to perform and businesses not to pay for abortions.
Don’t you know that we all will appear before the judgment of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10)? How will your argument to allow women to kill babies hold up in the presence of God? Praise God your mother didn’t abort you. God loves you, and He wants you to come to Him. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6).
