Inspiring project

To the Editor:

A special thank you goes out to the following grocery stores and restaurants for donations and supplies for our Service Learning group.

With the help of Lake Geneva Walmart, Johnsburg Walmart, Crystal Lake Walmart, Woodstock Walmart, Woodstock Wisted’s, Woodstock Burger King, Woodstock McDonald’s, McHenry Angelo’s, we were able to make lunches for the McHenry PADS program. These lunches were donated to homeless people in our area.

Our Alden-Hebron third- and fourth-grade service learning group wrote business letters requesting donations for this project. We collected the supplies, created the lunches, and donated them on Nov. 6.

We hope this project inspires you to make a difference in the community as our small group did. Thank you.
