Stronger united

To the Editor:

“Let us have peace.”

That’s what’s supposedly written on the grave of President Ulysses S. Grant, who fought alongside Abraham Lincoln to keep our nation together.

This Thanksgiving, let us take that to heart. Let us have peace after this election.

Let us have peace within our families, for they are America’s greatest strength.

Let us have peace between our neighbors, for they are the strength of the communities.

Let us have peace with our fellow man no matter what their religion or lifestyle or political beliefs. The greatest line in the Bible is, “Love conquers all.”

Let us have peace within our youths where gangs do not erupt in violence but in love and peace where they become gangs of hope.

Let us have peace in knowing America is stronger united than divided. Remembering those such as Lincoln who fought to keep peace and goodwill toward men, for it is still our goal.

Let us have peace in the blessings of liberty and freedom and never forgetting our brave who keep defending them.

So let us have peace this Thanksgiving, for blessed are those who work for peace. God will call them His children. Happy Thanksgiving to all and be safe.
