Island Lake remains are missing Joliet man
ISLAND LAKE – Skeletal remains found in an Island Lake marshland have been identified as a Joliet man reported missing more than a year ago, authorities said.
Kenneth J. Kile Jr.’s roommate reported him missing in July 2011 – about six weeks after Kile disappeared, according to the Island Lake Police Department.
The Gulf War veteran was last seen entering a wooded area near Route 176 and Lakeview Drive in the Cotton Creek Marsh Nature Preserve. His remains were found Nov. 3 during a search by several agencies. The remains were identified Nov. 9 through dental and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs records.
