Campbell to start at QB
The Bears have made it official: Jason Campbell will start at quarterback Monday against the San Francisco 49ers.
Campbell, 30, has started 70 games for the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders during his eight-year career. The Bears signed him to a one-year contract during the offseason to provide better depth behind Jay Cutler, whose six-game absence last season exposed a lack of talent at backup quarterback.
The Bears' investment in a new backup quarterback has paid off. Cutler sustained a concussion in Week 10 against the Houston Texans and has not been able to practice this week.
Campbell is expected to address media members Friday afternoon at Halas Hall.
