Three jailed 
in Woodstock cocaine deal

HARVARD – A Mundelein man and two from Harvard were in the McHenry County Jail on Friday facing drug charges in an investigation into narcotics sales.

Arrested were Jovani Lucio, 22, of 203 Gross St., Mundelein; and Abel Aguilar, 21, and Rafael Aguilar Jr., both of of 305 University St., Harvard.

Authorities said the men were seen conducting a drug transaction in the 100 block of North Eastwood Drive in Woodstock. They were arrested Thursday as part of a joint effort between the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Rockford field office.

Deputies seized about 153 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $15,300, a 2003 Lincoln Continental and a 2004 Jeep Cherokee in the arrests. Charges against the three include unlawful criminal calculated drug conspiracy, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

More arrests are anticipated, authorities said.

Two of the men are gang members and one is a gang associate, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Each man remained jailed Friday. Bond for the Aguilars was set at $100,000 each; Lucio’s bond was $120,000. They must post 10 percent to be released.

Lucio and Abel Aguilar’s next scheduled court date is Nov. 27. Rafael Aguilar’s is Nov. 26.
