Stop the bullying

To the Editor:

I recently read the letter “Verbal bullying” (Nov. 13). My son also is a victim of bullying, and it also started at Bernotas Middle School and continued as he went on to Crystal Lake Central High School. The difference is is that it got so bad, I took him out of Central.

He is now home-schooled. The painful part as a parent is seeing the devastation in your child’s eyes day after day. In middle school, my son started out with honor roll grades, but as the bullying continued, his grades began to drop. I went to the school numerous times trying to resolve the problem. It did not stop, and the most frustrating thing is that since the bullies had a larger group of friends, the staff would listen to them instead of my son.
