SYCAMORE (AP) — The trial for a DeKalb man accused of killing a Northern Illinois University student has been postponed because of problems with the defendant's ability to hear.

The Daily Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/100sqck) that a judge agreed Friday to delay William Curl's trial from Dec. 3 until January. The 36-year-old man is accused of killing freshman Antinette "Toni" Keller in October 2010.

Medical tests show that Curl needs hearing aids. The judge says that staffers at the DeKalb County jail think he can have the hearing aids by Nov. 30.
