Prairie Ridge junior Shane Evans has gained attention from football recruiting guru Tom Lemming, who is a good man for any college prospect to know.

Evans, a third-year varsity starter, has been selected to then National Collegiate Scouting Association All-Area for Chicago and the suburbs. For the second consecutive year, Evans and his parents will attend a banquet and awards ceremony at Soldier Field.

The Evanses and Wolves coach Chris Schremp will be at the ceremony Dec. 5, where Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke will be the guest speaker. Marian Central quarterback Chris Streveler also will be honored at the ceremony. Streveler, a senior, committed to Minnesota and will finish his graduation requirements early and enroll at the school in January.
