CL man possibly fell to his death

CHICAGO – A Crystal Lake man found dead in a Lincoln Park alley Sunday morning appears to have fallen from the upper floors of a building in the area, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said Monday.

Timothy Gallagher, 21, of the 1000 block of Hawthorne Court, was found on the ground with head and body trauma in the 400 block of West Fullerton Parkway in Chicago, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office pronounced him dead at 5:41 a.m., but is not ruling on the death until police finish their investigation.

An autopsy was conducted Monday.

Gallagher was a 2009 graduate of Crystal Lake South High School and attended McHenry County College until transferring to Western Illinois University in spring.

He was in Chicago visiting a friend, said Jeff Shahinian, 21, of Chicago, who went to high school with Gallagher.

“Tim was just an unbelievable guy,” Shahinian said. “He was always the life of the party. He was always making everybody laugh. ... Anytime you hung out, you knew you were going to have a good time.”
