Snow plow operator safety course Dec. 6

McHENRY – The McHenry County College Traffic Safety Program is offering a Snow Plow Driver Safety course at the Shah Center in McHenry from 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 6.

This class motivates participants to use best practices to prevent accidents and injuries while driving a snow plow. It includes information on visual and cognitive distractions, pre-trip equipment inspections, and precautions for working outdoors in extreme weather. Participants will also be given strategies for dealing with distracted drivers, speeders, and road rage. Both novice and experienced plow operators will gain a new awareness of roadway safety and defensive driving techniques.

This class is applicable for anyone who operates any type of snow plowing equipment on our roadways, including front plows, V-plows and wing plows.
