Witnesses chase down Chicago robber
CHICAGO (AP) — A man who allegedly tried to steal the purse of a woman amid the horde of Chicago Black Friday shoppers was thwarted by a couple of Good Samaritans.
Police say they might not have caught the bad guy without the civilian help.
Chris Frieden of Indianapolis, in Chicago with his family, said he was in his car when he heard a shriek and saw a man choking a woman and grabbing her purse. He, along with nearby resident Mike Hochhauser, gave chase as the alleged attacker tried to flee.
