Boil order in Hebron lifted

HEBRON – Officials lifted Hebron’s boil order about 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The village’s water was shut off Friday afternoon as workers repaired three or four broken valves that caused water to seep up through the pavement on Route 47. When the water was turned back on Friday night, a boil order went into effect.

Village President Frank Beatty said it took longer than usual to get water samples back from a lab to lift the order because of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

District 19 classes resumed Tuesday after being canceled Monday because of the boil order and unrelated flooding at Alden-Hebron Elementary School over the weekend.
